Steering Stabilizer Install question

I'm installing the Ducati linear steering stabilizer (the long black type). The body of the stabilzer is very loose where it mounts on the ignition bracket. I used the O ring and torqued it down but it wobbles back and forth and rubs on the handlebar bracket.

Am I missing a bushing or spacer? I know it requires some movement but this seems very loose.

Thanks.

Actually that sounds about right for a DP part.

The damper naturally moves front to back as the handlebars are turned. I would not consider it to "flop". If yours moves loosely, than something is probably wrong with it. If you adjust it properly it will not hit anything.
