Cheers

Didn't get the extra warranty because I knew I would not be taking the bike back to the dealer for servicing and that modifications I had in mind would make the warranty voidable.

Well, it depends what you do: making your own oil change does not void the warranty, but porting heads and installing high compression pistons will
There is a fine line which is not perfectly/clearly defined, keeping a good relationship with your dealer is important although we will not solve all problems

for the first time in my life, I opted for the extended warranty. I plan on keeping the bike for a while and it will be good for long after the bike is paid for. What the hell. Either that or new drapes and dishes for the lil missus.

Hey Todd,
Yea, I bought it. It was the first time I ever bought an extended warranty for any vehicle. I never wanted one for my Honda bikes or my Toyota but with a Ducati, well you never know. Actually a couple buddies of mine MMarsh and J.C. (both on this forum) had pretty serious issues with their Sport Classics and I have no regrets having that extra piece of mind. Have fun on Saturday. Ill be out Sunday if interested.
John

Okay...
So what were the prices you guys were getting quoted ?
My best so far its been $599 for the +5 year No deductible from "Western Service Contract" underwriten by MacGraw Ins.
The best quote for "Ever Red" warranty was $631 for the +3yr
Any input ?
Thanks

I bought a package that included the extended warranty, and also included a 3 year full service contract, and additional insurance, that if the bike gets stolen within 5 years, ducati will give me $5000 credit toward a new bike, even if my insurance pays in full, I think the total was like $1900.
the first 3 years of service (if done by a dealer) costs about $2300, I could have probably talkked them down a bit, but wanted to get out the door.
