DP termi ECU
I should get my DP termi ECU next week sometime. What are the differences between this ECU and the stocker? I am just wondering if I'd be better off with the stock one and a Power Commander or the DP ECU. It seems to me that the DP ECU isn't too flexible with future upgrades. I tried searching but couldn't find much info. on why this ECU comes with the exhaust purchase.

Which DP ECU are you getting? There are several. The DP ECUs that come with the cam kit and the Termi 2-1 exhaust both run in the open loop mode with the deletion of the 02 sensor. The cam kit ECU provides around 18% more fuel than the stock ECU while the 2-1 Termi ECU provides about 10% more fuel over stock.
The stock ECU runs in both closed loop and open loop. If you run the PC with the stock ECU you will only be able to adjust fueling above a certain rpm/throttle opening, as it can't override the closed loop mode of the stock ECU.
Another alternative to the power commander you might want to consider is the Rapidbike 3 module. Its available with an 02 emulator that allows the RB unit to adjust fueling throughout the entire rpm/throttle opening range using the stock ECU. Either the RB3 or PCIII will work with the cam kit or 2-1 ECU without the 02 emulator. Hope this isn't too confusing .

no, it clarifies things pretty well. I have the 2-1 ECU on the way this week. So, it looks like this is a good start.

I have the leo vince pipes and have the kat eliminator in the garage but don't want to put it on until I get either a dp ecu or something else. What should I do?

I'm not really familiar with what I need or what I can use. I Also read on this forum of members with the Leo pipes and Kat eliminator installed with the stock ecu. This is my first Duc and I don't want it to run lean but I really want to put on the kat eliminator asap.

My bike has 500 miles on it. I just did the LV cat eliminator, DP airbox lid, disabled flapper, and geared down to 14/42. Bike runs good, appears to be no leaner than stock and actually seems smoother. I guess the stock closed loop can compensate for these minor changes but noway of knowing for sure without a gas analyzer. Slip ons me be pushing it but I wouldn't worry about the cat eliminator.
