KandN oil filter exposed nut

just put on the KandN oil filter and it has a 14mm nut on the end of it, it hangs down about 3/4 of an inch lower than the factory Duc filter fyi, I'm not liking this much...

What are you jumping stumps? The K&N has a shorter body height then the stock filter, so the difference is really about 1/4" at the most. The K&N height is 3-1/4". I don't have a stocker, but I think I remember it being about 3" tall. I love that 17mm nut and the numbers around the filter so you can turn it 7/8 of a turn past finger tight for proper torque. And it comes with a plastic seal and the gasket is pre-lubed, though I always lube it again. I am on my 3rd K&N and I have not had any problems to date.

I run the K&Ns on my FZ and Rhino. Can't beat a nut on the end. Nobody should ever be allowed to mfg a filter again absent a nut.

Yeah, I remember before someone posting the dimensions and it wasn't that much off stock.

Out!

I've been using them on my track bike because they already have provisions for safety wire. I do really like the 17mm nut on there, it makes oil changes much easier.
