Question Installing the Rear Lowering Link....????

I picked up the rear lowering link today from my dealer. I didn't get a chance to look at the bike yet. I plan to put it in tomorrow morning. I was just wondering if I need to know what to do, or if there is a simple way to do this. I know some of you here have this on your bike. Anything I need to know in advance that would save me some grief.? I was wondering if I need to replace the rod ends, or could I just replace the shorter shaft? I kinda looked at it last week and I remember thinking that the exhaust has to be removed to get to the bottom bolt in the swingarm. I can't look at it now because I keep the bike at my friend's garage, that's why I'm asking. I do know that I have to slide the fork tube up in the triple tree to lower the front too.

Thanks for your help....

You may want to check out this thread first:

And then maybe make an appointment at Cross Country to have them do it for you.

LOL, I don't know why the other guy had a hard time with installing his. It took me about 30 minutes, and was almost as easy as changing a spark plug....

Piece of cake install, and well worth doing. Bike now handles better, and I can stand flat foot on the bike.

Werloc, how is the Adjustable rear suspension linkage so far? What would be the lowest setting you can adjust the seat height with this?
I was also interested on this part but I was not sure if the "S" model already come with the rear suspension linkage? Any idea?
Thanks!

One useful tool to have while installing the link is a scissor-type jack - I borrowed the one from my Toyota MR2. Put the bike in gear, put the scissor jack between the rear tire and seat frame (I had to remove a plastic cover). Now you have precise control of bike height when the shock and/or link is out - makes it a lot easier to line things up.
