I have the top bolt out of the shock linkage BUT the bottom bolt just spins and I dont see how to get it out! I am using the 8mm hex head and the bolt spins kind of tightly but doesnt back out at all!! I am replacing the linkage with the adjustable one. Feel free to call me as I am in my garage and need to pack up for Deals Gap for first thing in the morning!!! F&$K!! 513-615-4800

I THINK, let me repeat that, I THINK the part that the bolt screws in to inside the swingarm is NOT supposed to be spinning when I try to loosen the bolt. BUT there is no way to keep it in place if it happens to start spinning. Kind of like having a nut and bolt but no way to grab the nut to keep the whole thing from spinning. Not to mention I have a friend coming over with 2 of the those magnetic ended wands to see if I can fish the socket/hex head out of the f'in swingarm. Stay tuned, you may see me self destruct right here on the bbs.
I cant believe noone has a suggestion.

I don't know if this will help, but here's an image of the rear suspension from the manual.

It looks like #16 is what the bolt threads into. Here's what the manual says for removal:
When the lower screw (15) is removed, the lower ball joint (6) of the linkage (2) is released from the swingarm. Collect the threaded bush (16) and the bushes (4) placed at the sides of the lower linkage ball joint.
Looks like #16 should come out. Maybe you can knock the rod (15) out from the other side?

You might be able to blow some compressed air up through the bottom of the swingarm/linkage connnection. I was able to remove a bolt and plastic washer this way when I installed my rear hugger.
Out!

15 and 16 are the problem. When I spin 15, 16 is spinning with it. BUT there is no way to hold 16 from spinning from inside the swingarm. You can see it but the head has no grooves and is actually concave and round. I was afraid to stick a rod in there and pound on it gently. With my luck i would have broken or stripped something.
Also, I had removed the lower part of the exhaust to get to everything easier and in putting it back on my buddy cross threaded one of the clamps so bad is was frozen. Couldnt even get the bolt out of the clamp with a pry bar. Had to sawzaw the bolt out and put in a nut and bolt instead. AND he also dropped another socket in the swingarm. I fished one out with a little bendy magnet wand. I think the other will move back to the front of the arm after a couple of quick stops. I will fish for that later. So, basically 4 hours of work, 1 missing hex socket in the swingarm and 1 broken exhaust clamp, nothing else done. SUCKS! Still heading to the gap here shortly though.
