Noob
I currently own an '06 Honda Interceptor and I am thinking of getting
a Monster 696 or Hypermotard as a second bike. My experience is 4600
miles on the VFR and 5000 miles on a Honda 599. Is the Hypermotard
difficult to ride or only for very experienced riders?
Thanks, Marco.

Its a fairly forgiving bike, brakes can take a little getting used to. My hyper is my first street bike.

difficult? not at all.
the word you're looking for is FUN to ride.
i used to ride dirtbikes from 95-00 then rode sportbikes from 600cc to 1k cc.
i think this is the MOST FUN bike that i have ever owned.... :-D

This weekend was the first time in 6 months that I felt like I was out of my riding/confidence slump.
Saturday I rode my Hypermotard, Sunday I rode my SM610. For the first time I wished I had left the SM610 home and ridden the Hyper both days.
It's a total blast....................

Yes it's fun, but I have to disagree with it being a forgiving bike.

Forgiving as in, easy to correct your line in a turn...YES!
Forgiving as in, the brakes can get you out of a scary spot......YES!
Forgiving as in, easy to ride on the freeway....... HELL NO!

Don't let this bike intimidate you. It's a sweet ride for sure. You'll get use to it, and love every minute of it...
