slipper clutch problem!!

Hey guys,
Hi to all of you out there i v been browsing this very informative forum for a couple of months and now that i have a problem with my hyper i need to post this thread and ask you for a solution if any...
Firstly excuse my english...its my second language and therefore not excellent in using it.
ok so, i bought the hyper normal version since july 07 (almost a year now) i have already bought all of the travel accessories (bagster, side bags, tank bag), the aluminum engine protection plate, racing seat, steering damper, sliders - which apparently i managed to fit them on top of the rubber peg, the carbon rear mudguard with chain guard - originally the pack was missing 2 bolts, by the way DP stuff seems to be bad quality...,the Ducati Performance antitheft system, and finally the Slipper clutch for everyday comfort in use (not the racing version) preventing rear locking...
As you can see i have paid a lot of money so far not to mention the rizoma and speedy moto parts and swift -tech carbon (i will post a pic of my bike soon). For the slipper clutch alone i paid around 1000euro total - including labour - and after 4.000km of use my clutch plates are dead... so dead that i cant even start the bike with a second person at the back on an incline road. i v tried many times and as soon as i put in first gear and clutch starts turning without giving power to the rear wheel to move. the noise it makes brakes my heart hearing it. iam stoping on the red light and other bikers next to me start to laugh about the noise it makes until i can start moving. I v been down the dealer's place more than three times and finally this is what they said:all this was due to bad use of the system, too much playing with the lever... they wont put it under warranty whatsoever...
and i am so pissed off with them, after spending so much money on the bike they wont cover clutch plate damage? for only 4.000kmh of use? thats ridiculous at the list...
now the question: does anyone know any site that i can buy kevlar plates kit for hypermotard for use with the slipper clutch? my mechanic suggested to buy this thru internet as it will be better on beholding aggressive downshifting of slipper clutch systems?
Sorry guys for this long paragraph but i am really upset with what has happened.
Thanks in advance
George

First, welcome to Ducati.ms! Your English is better than some of the Americans who post here, so don't worry about that...

Your clutch problem doesn't sound normal at all to me. I'm surprised your dealer won't help you with it! Did they install it?

I think you should contact your national Ducati distributor and file a complaint...

Thanks for your reply! Time zones make it difficult to be both online i understand. They said the problem comes from the use of the slipper clutch as it seems 'eats faster' the rubber material found in-between the discs-plates. It is considered normal wear out and therefore they wont cover it. My question is different though. For me, as many others, the average user of bikes to buy slipper clutch is considered as a safety purcahse since any stupid use of downshifting will be excused hwereas with the normal would be a different case, then why they never mentioned this on purchase that i need a different better quality disk plates with the slipper clutch.
Anyway i will file a complaint. Do you know any site i can order kevla-plates kit for hyper? thanks

I'm not too familiar with the installation of slipper clutches, since I've never used one, but I've seen people discussing the use of different friction plates, etc.

Use the search function to find some more information about it. There have been many discussions about slippers here...

slipper clutch has more maintenance respect a non-slippery one, i have read that there are stronger types of friction plates that are studied for this kind of stuff, more expensive than standard ones but last longer............

let us know how it works because I have almost the exact same problem with my 749r and the dealer has not been able to fix it despite repeated tries.
