Pix of DP Handguards, Mirrors, & CRG Levers

Well, shorty levers that is.

I was out of town for the weekend on a BMW WARPED4GOOD camping trip 2-up with my son & about 150 ADVRiders.

I learned over the weekend that soft sand & a 600lb BMW GSAdventure, loaded for camping with my 115 lb son on the back do not mix. Anyway, no harm no foul.

Here are the PIX of the CRG shorty levers with the DP Handguards. Just a bit of clearance, but work fine. I installed the guards at the curb of ProItalia, PI did the CRG brake lever with some sort of modification to make it work.

The DP guards are definitely more functional than the original ones. I can now lane split with abandon.

Interesting to see in that last picture that the guards are made by Acerbis

That, & the fact that they have a nice metal (steel, aluminum??) bar in them, leads me to believe that they will hold up well.

Have you noticed that the clutch engages much further out on the lever action compared to the stockers? Mine won`t engage until the lever is almost fully released no matter what # they`re on.

Rob, I went for the DP mirrors as well. I'm using a pro taper bar and waiting on some acerbis supermoto guards. Will be a similar set-up to yours.

After reading your post I thought about it the next time I rode the bike. I have not noticed that. I would ask your dealer. I wonder if there is an adjustment on the clutch or if the lever / pin / master cylinder is somehow not seated properly.

I like the way the shorty levers feel, the clutch side is fine & the brake side seems to tone down the front brake just a bit, which with the S model is a good thing IMO.

Infidel, let me know how those new bars are, how much, and how much of a pain to install. I may be interested. I really need to cut down my bars maybe a half inch or move the grips or something as there is a space at the end of the grips before the handguards. If I'm going to all that trouble I may just put new bars on, and maybe some bling grips as well.
