Exhaust...step by step

So....A few questions for whomever might know.

I have ordered my Termi 2-2 slip-on system and of course comes with the ECU. As stated here, this ECU tweaks a few things and keeps the exhaust valve open. What I want to do is add the rest of the system piece by piece. Next after I will be getting the vertical mid-pipe which removes the valve. This comes with a new ECU....so do I remove the other race ecu and the new one now controls the termis, mid-pipe and airbox. Also, with the new bikes, are the old ECUs coded to the bike once used like the bikes with red keys? After this second stage I then plan on getting the cat eliminator pipe.

If this works out I will have a DP Termi ecu and DP open airbox for sale.

You will want to keep the DP open airbox lid unless you're going to eliminate the airbox completely. The ECUs are not coded to the bike so you can sell your stock and slip-on ECUs if you want. You will need to have your TPS reset and fuel trim adjusted with each ECU swap. That's going to be one expensive exhaust system when its complete. Hope you're getting a good deal on it!

I am a sponsored by a Ducati dealer so I would never think of doing this otherwise, the cost savings make it somewhat feasible plus I can spread out my purchases doing it this way.

The mid-pipe comes with a airbox cover as well so that is why I would have a cover for sale. Hopefully I can recoup some of the costs with the sale of the slip-on ECU and airbox cover.

It is awesome that we can actually intechange our ECUs now!

Tphnet....does your DP ecu work well with the Zard pipes? The reason I ask because of the lack of control on the exhaust valve and does the CO2 sensor get reinstalled in the Zard system?

The vertical mid pipe as you call it is a complete header set very similar to the Zard collectors no need to buy the Cat eliminator as well as the headers get rid of the Cat & the stupid flappy thing! If you already have the Termi slip on go for the Zard collectors half the price of the Termi set up

Well, I was able to convince my dealer to let me bump over to a Full 2-1 race system instead of my 2-2 system. I thought about what my options were and this seemed the most logical after the whole process would have been said and done.
