After previously owning a monster, I couldn't leave the plate bracket stock. I also hate the overpriced charge for aftermarket eliminators. Therefore I did the same as my monster. I went to the hardware store and spent $4. All you need to do is buy 2 steel corner brackets. If you have a drill, hacksaw and files you are set.
Take the angle brackets and bend them upwards, drill out one hole for the light mount screw and add a new hole for the wires. Position the bracket and drill a bike mount hole. Cut all the excess steel off, file all the edges smooth and sand smooth. I mounted the lights to the screw on each side that holds the exhaust side panels at the top just in front of the taillight assembly. You do need to buy 2 M6 locking nuts for the signal light bolts as the old assembly had the nuts built in. Also, the top stock mount screws for the covers needs to be changed to a screw that is twice the length.
I mounted the liscensce plate on my rear chain guard for now. I will see how this works out. My only concern would be cornering clearance as I ride quite spirited at times.
Anyhow, I just wanted to share the fact that $6 in brackets and screws can do the trick. Also, this is the first post of my new Hyper, I couldn't post pics of her without at least one mod done
The top pic shows the stock assembly with one bracket mounted, one bracket completed and what the bracket looks like in the hardware store.
Second pic is how it turned out.
