Just noticed, flaking paint on the cylinder case...
with 1300 miles, It doesn't look so bad in the pic but it's like a peeling apartment wall. What the hell...?
Should I be concerned, i.e. cylinder temps or something?
Stock but for the DP airbox lid.

Mine is the same way, though not to the same extent.

Thanks.
Good thing the paint is silver on top of silver otherwise it'd look even worse...

Same. I'm pissed. The dealer(HPD) said they haven't had any complaints and to bring it by to show them, but what the hell are they going to do? I think I'm better off touching it up myself with some engine enamel.

There were a bunch of complaints from the sports classic crowd about this, about 6-8 months ago if I remember correctly.

Any idea how those complaints were resolved?

Probably by selling the Ducati and buying another brand.

If it were me (and it may happen to me), I would plan on pulling the heads (at 7,500 mi.) and do porting, big valves, race cams/reshimming and powdercoating (red) all at the same time.

WHAO!!! That doesn't look good at all. Here I am been looking for a used "S" model. Maybe I should re-think about this bike. Thanks for the heads up.

Actually, I called them too and got the same response of bringing it by to look. I just wanted to make sure it's not a sign of something bad.
Visually, I would prefer if it didn't peel but so long as it's not harming the bike I'll live with it.
As to fixing it, you'd have to tear off the cylinder head like what was said earlier to get the best finish and coverage. eh.
