Top Speed?
I live in Southwest New Mexico, the elevation where I do most of my riding
is between 6000 & 7000 ft. My Hyper-S has 1800 miles. Termi Slip-On, cat eliminator, moded air box lid and the DP ECU. On a recent full throttle run the bike pulled 8000 RPM at an indicated 140 MPH. (DB killers in). It felt real strong. I think it may hit redline with the DP windscreen (I finally found one,
it's on the way) and with the DB killers removed.

Cool!
Do you run 191 in AZ and 180 in NM? How about Arroyo Seco?
Maybe we can catch up for a ride this summer when I start hitting the high country. The Hyper is made for 191/180.
Out!

191/180
I've driven 180 and 191 from Silver City but haven't run it on the Ducati yet.
As soon as I can find the time I'm ready. 191 might just be the ultimate Hyper ride. I went on to MapQuest and checked the route from Silver City, it is approximately 310 miles round trip. Gas is a minor consideration. Sometimes the small town stations are not always open. I've called ahead on some of our longer rides. The Black Range (route 152 from San Lorenzo, NM to Hillsboro, NM is also awesome) Send me a contact number and I'll call when we are going that way if you want to meet up.

Yeah, fuel mileage will be a ????? I may pack a couple of pints of fuel (MSR tanks) in my tail bag. I think the only place for gas between Morenci and Alpine, AZ along 191 is Hannigan Meadow Lodge. I would have to verify, it was never a problem on the FZ1. There are a couple places on 180 if I recall.
I suppose we are still a few weeks out before the roads clear from snowmelt at that elevation.
Deals Gap of the West................110 miles of twisties on 191 and you can do it back down on 180 with less technical stuff.
Out!

Bringing up an old tread but,
I got 124 out of mine three times yesterday. It would go to 7k and just sit there. I'm 235-240lbs suited up and I had a back pack on and could feel the air under it when I was tucked.

209kph (129mph) short burst, no room, bog stock. Zards are in the mail, have DP ECU in my spares kit.

119 mph and then chickened out because the bike felt twitchy. I'm hoping to top that my next run through the desert to Wrightwood.
Could be this Saturday, we'll see.

Top Speed
Unless you're reading the top speed from a GPS, the speedo numbers are pretty meaningless. The speedometer reads high by almost 10% at 100mph, and the error increases as speed increases. I've seen a GPS indicated 118mph in decent wind, and maybe could have gotten another few mph out of it. For the record, that's with Termi slip-on/ecu/airbox, 185lb rider, DP windscreen, and not particularly tucked in. I didn't look at the speedo, but I know that it reads 5mph high at 70mph, and more error at higher speeds.
