Saw a used Hyper at a dealer today...
At Scuderia in San Francisco.
It was an S model with full Termi system and the Duc Performance seat. No other changes that I could see. It only had 300 miles on it.
Selling for $13.9K.
Damn, that seems like a deal. It kind of upsets me actually. Especially since my poor Hyper is in the freaking shop waiting on a warranty repair for the past three weeks.
I don't know if I'm wigged out because I don't have my bike and that makes this seems like a deal I should have jumped on or simply that I'm missing my bike.
Sigh.

I was there today too picking up some KTM suspension bits.
Scuderia isn't a Ducati dealer. The bike had a license plate frame from "Munroe Motors" and was there on consignment sale.
The 690 Duke was looking interesting.

If you like the 690 grab it now, most dealers are only getting one this year, and like the Hypers when they first came out there will be no discounts on that bike.

How do you guys like the KTM 690 Duke
or Supermoto? Even though it's half the cc's. I was looking into getting one of those until I saw the Hyper. Do they compare,..............at all?

They look like very cool bikes. The LC4 motor is supposed to be pretty damn good too. I would say the only thing that it wouldn't do well is freeway travel. Might be a bit buzzy at speed. I'm only speculating though from riding an older Duke model.

The new 690 motor is very smooth - much different than the 640 LC4. The 690 Duke is very cool! We got a white one in a month or so ago and it was everything I could do to not buy it!

before my hyper purchase i had two ktm lc4's converted to a super motard and a 1996 ktm duke...i really had a hard time choosing between the 690 duke or SM and the hyper, but the local ducati dealer employees are like family to me practiacally, and it didnt take much more than a twist of the throttle to decide :d
i got my non S demo bike for $10,800 OTD, took the $ i saved and bought the dual termi underseat, dp seat and cat eliminator

The 690 is supposed to be a lot smoother motor than the 640.
I had been using my 640 in Supermoto trim as my commuter since 2001. It wasn't overly buzzy, at least that's what I thought until I rode a HM-S.
The HM-S is bit heavier, almost 2x the HP as the 640 and none of the vibration, but on the really tight twisties I suspect the 690 with 64 HP would gobble up the HM-S.
