How is the Hyper for a passenger..?
I'm getting the Hypermotard very soon. Just wondering if any of you ever ride with a passenger on the back. How is it for the passenger? I do plan to take my wife with me once in a while. Just wondering how it is on the Hyper for her? Maybe a few hours or so, or just take off for the day on the bike.

I used to put my girl on mine all the time, it didn't really bother me at all and it was mostly in city traffic, but she is tiny 100lb.

I was wondering how she felt on the back. My wife is about 125.

I have the race seat, and to be honest she said her lil box hurt and was a lil sore after the ride. Now, it could be her not sitting on the bike right or it could be the seat.

I think maybe the race seat is thinner, plus you have to get use to it. First few times out each year bicycle riding we get sore bottoms too, but after a few trips, all is well.

Passengers = baggers!
It's cool that she likes to ride with you, but I think you would enjoy a different bike much more for traveling two up. Mabe a Multistrada would be a better bike, afterall you are gonna get similar performance in a different package.
I think the suspension is going to be too soft and it will make the front more twitchy.
I pulled my rear pegs and it looks much better too.
Out!

My wife loves riding on my Hyper. I have the racing seat and she still finds it comfortable, especially compared to my R6. She's 5'6" and 105 lbs. We've never gone more than about 50 miles without a break, but she always says she could go further.

I had a multi totaled that in Nov. and now the hyper is stolen April. Not doing so good in the bike department.
My girl loved the multi had a nice passenger seat and with the top case she had a lil back rest. I got the multi thinking we would do alot of riding and touring together but that didn't happen, but like Axe mentioned if you are going to have your wife on the bike alot check out the multi.
Axe, agreed the bike does look better without the back pegs. I would have liked to have taken them off, but casual little rides with the girl stopped that from happening.
Funny with the girl on the back of the bike, I felt the front of the bike was more stable, more grounded and connected to the pavement. I never did anything to the suspension setting left it at factory setting.

I think that the step in the race seat makes it much better than stock becauce your not being pushed or pushing against the tank cover (I´ve tryed to sit behind as well). No comfort issues at all so far, just feels firm like a sportcar seat .

It's a hard call. If I bought the Multistrada, she would "maybe" ride with me more. If I get the Hyper, she won't. I don't know for sure. She hasn't ridden on a bike ever. I don't care if she does or doesn't ride. So, it doesn't bother me. I'm going to have to test ride both, consider all scenarios. I did ask her that when I buy a bike, will you ride with me. She said she wouldn't know until she tried. We'll THAT would be a major factor on what model bike I buy. So, now I'm kinda stuck on what to get. If I get a Multi, and she doesn't ride with me often, I'll be pissed.
BTW, is the Multi cheaper price than the Hyper base model?
