That's pretty cool, but you I hope you still have your mirrors.

I had a similar set up on my old ninja. I had a lipstick cam and mine would record and play mp3s. I saw that set up at Wal-mart for $100. It looks pretty good with simple wiring and if that is the same one you could flip and rotate views. Pretty cool for the price. Only problem I had was DO NOT look at it when you pull a wheelie. It will really through you off seeing how close your rear comes to the pavement.

I got the package from a friend for $20, so it was a cheap price to experiments with. Very simple wiring but it does have some interesting features (which I'll probable never use).

Here's the spec's

For now I still have the flip-out mirrors on the bike.

I haven't mounted it yet. That bracket beside the screen is the DP dampener mount. The screen isn't water proof, so I'll need to make a mount and wiring harness with quick-disconnects.

I'll post my results as I progress. I'm thinking of chopping the tail off at the same time.

Smile HM TailChop With Video

I have my TailChop about 90% complete now. All I have left to do is a little soldering to finish up the wiring. I'll make a permanent mount for the video display when I rebuild the front end (and remove that duck bill).

Huh, I have a cheap system looks exactly the same as the reverse camera on my truck. I mocked it up on my bike too but thought there was a lot of interference - too much to use as a constant-on reverse camera.

Let us know how it works for you over time.
