Zard Top Guns

I just got around to getting my Zard Top Gun slip ons installed tonight. Here are a few observations
  • Sounds incredible, (with no baffle you might find it a bit loud)
  • Quality construction
  • Fitment is good (however, it could be a little better in terms of the carbon fiber side panels fitting to the stock covers, and they had them reversed as shipped)
  • Finsh is average (the carbon fiber isn't as good as it should be, and one of my side panel pieces is pitted badly)
  • Sounds incredible
  • There are a lot of pieces assembled to make this kit
  • Tail kit is average (I am going to use the one I fabricated and modify it to fit the Zard)
  • Definitely longer than stock pipes, but much lighter
  • Packing was very good, but the loose side panels did rub on my can and messed up the finish a little bit
  • Sounds incredible

Anyway, once I get the rest of the bike back together and my tail kit modified and rewired I will post some pictures and sound clips.

Out!

Thanks for the update!

Are you using any sort of ECU modifications and/or did you have to fiddle with the TPS with just the slip-on?

I really like the way the Zards look. They really change the appearance of the bike, but I like the Arrows too. They're somewhat understated but tasty.

I have the DP ECU I picked up from a board member. I also have a DNA filter and modified the stock lid. The bike ran pretty well with just the filter, air box mod, and DP ECU. I suspect that it will run pretty well with the added pipe too. I am going to try and get it on the dyno later this week or early next to get it dialed in just right.

Right now, I am still in the process of modifying the tail kit. The mounting bracket the Zard supplies is a nice piece, but it is made for the stock blinkers. I am modifying it to work with some Motrax LED blinkers. I am having to do some fab work with it. I got it mocked up tonight, so I like how it sits on the bike. I also mashed the pipe that holds the wiring down to a flatter profile so it sits tighter up to the exhaust that made it look better. I have to figure out how to attach the smaller blinkers. I may also paint it black too.

I can't wait to hit the road with it, but it will probably take me a few more hours to get the wiring done and the side panel inserts adjusted. It is a bigger project than I was looking for, but should be nice when I get it done.

This thing growls...............I guess loud pipes saves lives.........at least on a Harley. The video clip on YouTube is pretty much spot on in terms of sound.

Out!
