Checking exhaust valve operation, with Termi slip-on
I've got the Termi slip-ons with DP airbox and ECU that come with the pipes. I've noticed that the exhaust valve goes through an open-close cycle when first powering up the bike, which you can hear and see on the backside of the right pipe where the valve is. The thing is, when I rev the bike and look at the valve, I don't see it do anything at all. I've checked in with the bike in neutral, whether cold or hot, and it doesn't move. Can someone with the Termi-slip on setup please check their bike and see if the valve does anything after the initial startup cycle? It seems like there have been a number of bad ECU's shipped with the slip-on kit, and they seem to be related to the exhaust valve operation.

I think you have to be in gear for the exhaust valve to start working. I think it just stays open in neutral.

I would like to know when that flapper actually moves. Anyone wasting time on a dyno? The stock mufflers have something about 80 decibel at 4125 rpm, my guess that it closes here and on decel, to prevent lean backfires & sucking cold air into the cat.

Checking exhaust valve operation, with Termi slip-on
I have the Termi slip ons with the DP racing ECU, airbox mod and cat eliminator. The bike didn't feel like it was performing like in the recent past, maybe as if the exhaust valve was operating intermittently. My exhaust valve doesn't move on startup. I took it to the dealer I bought it from to have the dash display re-flashed so the trip odo would read correctly and mentioned the exhaust valve. A mechanic attempted to determine proper operation with a diagnostic tool but was unable to say whether or not it was working. He's looking for info regarding the correct protocol. Is anyone sure the exhaust valve interfaces with the racing ECU? Meanwhile I'll have to ride it the way it is but I was thinking about taping the servo to the frame with a small piece of tape and going for a ride to see if the tape breaks or comes off one end.
Good Luck

I have just fited the Zard headers with my termi slip ons junking the cat & the flapper thingy, all I can say is what a differance it is like a different bike no more snatchy throttle and it pulls a lot harder through the mid to high range I dont thing the flapper thing does anything to enhance performance!!
I was also expecting to see an error message with the flapper disconnected ....nothing as yet maybe you only get an error with the standard ECU, Cams going in next cant wait!!!
