FIRST DUCATI HM1100s

Just picked up a HM1100S last night at Scottsdale Ducati in AZ. I live in Las Vegas. I put on about 70 Miles on it last night in AZ and i loved it. It took a little while to get used to the seating position being 6'1 240lbs but by the end of my ride i adjusted just fine.. I had the dealer put on the 2 into 1 pipes on it now i'm looking to have the race cam & slipper clutch install with the lighter flywheel at the 600 mile service does anyone have any info on this stuff increased H.P. ect.. After reading all the threads you guys seem to have all the answers so i'm here to pick your brains..

THANKS

The 2-1 adds about 5 to the wheels so depending on transmission loss that's around 10 to 12 or so to the fly wheel.

The cams depend on tuning but I've seen numbers as high as 100 to the rear wheel.

Congrats...be safe!

too bad you didn't get to ride it before you installed the 2 into 1 exhaust. You would of noticed a nice power increase. I also had the exhaust done and have the DP race slipper clutch in the garage....just waiting for the weather to get a little warmer so that I can get the bike to the dealer. I'm thinking about the cams, but haven't fully commited. I don't think the bike needs it, but the price is right, so why not.

So what are you guys getting for pricing in Arizona? I was on the phone again today with one of the dealers in Phoenix and I am still working on some prices to get me off the fence. I am seeing prices around $13,700 for the base model and $16,700 for the S OTD. I need another $2000K or so otherwise, I am gonna get a used one.

Thanks for the information.

Out!

This could be pointless, but I got an offer for a new standard for 12,500.00 out the door, but I am in NY. Not sure what shipping would be, but that seems a little cheaper than out west. I found a used S with only 108 miles and got it for 13,400.00 out the door. its worth searching for a used one this time of year. I called ever dealer where I had family, but I ended up finding mine close to Philly.

I paid $13,600.00 OTD for a standard in August. Mind you I believe mine was the first standard HM sold in the Phx Valley so there was no wheeling and dealing on it.

Not sure how much luck you will have trying to get a deal on a new one. Although there are a few on the show room floors, many dealers are just not willing to cut prices to sell new models in its first year and the used market is there but pretty slim I would guess. You might be better trying to get them to throw in some free service or something vs. trying to get cash off the price. Goodluck..........

It sounds like you guys are getting a little better pricing. I haven't worked the deal hard yet, just feeling it out. The dealer I am working with has 4 on the floor (2 of each), so I figure they got to be getting hungry soon. I too figure that if I can't get much lower on price, then I am gonna start negotiating parts and stuff. They have been very good to work with so far, so I don't mind paying a little for their commitment and service.

Yeah the used market is slim, but a few that I have seen sold were good deals in my opinion for low mileage bikes with some aftermarket stuff. I was a little late on one of them or I would already own it.

Out!
