I have been a fan of Akrapovic for over 10 years now, using either slip-on or full system exhausts of theirs on 5 different bikes. The only exception, was I put the Termignoni high pipes on my wife's Capirex 620 Monster.

After waiting for months for the Akrapovic slip-ons to come off back-order for my "07 Aprilia Tuono, I went with Leo Vinces. And they have yet to make a pipe for my wife's Triumph 675. They have released pipes for new bikes just coming out, and STILL nothing for the 675 that came out in '06.

I'd love to see what they make for the Hypermotard, but I won't wait for it this time.

Pardon my rant !

I agree that the Akras are sweet but the Termis are ready to go and will look just as good. It's chipped and ready to go. Once you have it on your bike, I don't think you will look back at all

no prob at all. i mean a company like akrapovic must and will have an interest to offer rather quickly something. otherwise it happens just the case you told: the client is buying a product of a competitor.

i think cause of the success and the mass of production of this bike everyone will act this time faster - to get a big piece of the cake...

Just look at the 1098. Who else offers a slipons much less a full system yet? The bike has been out for around 5 months.

I bet we won't have systems for the HM in our hands for a while. Arrow and Zard both said they are working on something, but neither of them have a fully out for the 1098 and arrow doesn't even have the slip ons yet... (soon though)

Isn't it hard to justify the R&D to support these products on such a limited release bike?

Akrapovic is coming out with pipes for the 1098 and hopefully for the HM soon.

I think you see a lot of that with products. You'll notice that exhausts for R1's and the other most popular sport bikes seem to show up much quicker than Ducati products.

It is the same for other items too. For example Armour Bodies track bodywork. The best bodywork around in my opinion, but they haven't made 1098 bodywork yet as they were too busy with the other new bikes (Japanese). The have had a set of 1098 bodywork since long ago as my friend supplied it before the bikes came into the US.
