great action shots of HM...

could someone explain why motard riders put their leg out when turning?

Also, how does the guy back it in like in the vid? Is he spinning up tire or braking the rear?

They put their leg out to transfer weight to the front of the bike. They back it in by a combination of front braking, pushing down on the bars, weighting the outside peg and downshifting. Sometimes they use a little rear brake to initiate it. It takes practice!

You just can't help yourself when you're riding a motard-style bike. You have to stick that leg out!

backing it in is actually quite easy (on a real motard, not sure about a street bike). Grab the front brake, pull the clutch in, click down two gears, lean the bike and let the clutch out (quick but not dump it). You can then control the slide by modulating the clutch. Some people tap the rear while letting the clutch out to help slow the rear wheel down, but it is not necessary. You never lock the rear up though, that is lame

Thumbs up

Looks like a new standard in Ducati "flick-ability" is about to be set!

Maybe it'll show up in the Matrix prequel...
