According to the Desmoblog, the Hypermotard is in Series 1 production, which actually is a pre-production run to test fit and assembly. That is what they are using for the brochure photos, both static and action.

I've been in touch with Ducati of Miami about the HM since the middle of last winter. They first told me they were informed at the dealer show that the first HM's would arrive at the same time as the 1098, the end of February.

Then, in early January, they were told that demand for the 1098 was so strong that the HM was being pushed back to the end of March.

Two weeks ago came the news, again in their words, that Ducati of NA told them it was scrubbed from the 2007 lineup.

About how Ducati lists the HM. The '08 designation is a new development. The original press release said it would be in dealers in the Spring of 2007. The announcement is here.

they are 2008 early release bikes like the S4Rs... They will be in US this summer !!

If you have firm launch information, I'd love to hear more. But as of this afternoon there still isn't a firm date, or even a month, that has been given to the dealers.

My dealer says May/June 2007 as promised. He also does not deny that there might be a BLACK version coming. Oh baby, black HM with red frame.

Guess who's #6 on the overall list but #1 on the "black" list?

The desmoblog from 1 year ago DOES say that it would be in dealers on the spring of 2007, but it does not say as an 07 model.
Everything that I have seen on the Ducati website, has never shown it listed as an 07 current model.

May/June is still spring, especially for an Italian manufacturer !

In couple video interviews on the blog, Minoli is very clear (to me and everyone that speaks Italian), bike is coming in May to Italian dealers and the rest to follow after few weeks.
No official date like you said, but it's on video.
I'm also on the Italian HM forums often, those guys get very fresh news from their dealers and..they are getting ready.
