Air scoop in fender?

Do the front fender scoops hide the small oil cooler radiator inside?
Has it been mentioned anywhere?

The best I've seen, the oil cooler is in the standard location for any air-cooled Duc. And I haven't seen any "lines" to the cooler, other than those standard on my DS1000.

I coldn't see an oil cooler in the front fender and believe that it is just a styling "poof". And, if we are on the same page, it would be nice to mount that headlight in something a bit less "beaky".

Ok, I now see the picture again and yes, it seems exactly the same setup as the MS, with the cooler in the front part of the frame, as JCrash mentioned.

No mechanical advantage to the "scoop".

Yes, it was the oldest post on the forum, so I thought it'd be silly to post to it.
