Injector and Throttle body ????'s
I'm looking at rifle boring a set of throttle bodies for my evo to see if it will make any significant increase in power. To make costs more affordable I'm looking at splitting the cost of the TB's with another forum member who needs the injectors out of them. My only questions before pulling the trigger are will the injectors from my 2010 evo swap over into the throttlebodies from a 2008s? Since as soon as they arrived I would be removing the injectors and sending them off to the other financier of this project. I'm pretty sure the TB's will mount right up since all my research so far says they are the same size and diameter but I'm not totally sure of this even yet. Second question is has anyone done this (rifle bore the throttle bodies) if so was worth the time or was it a waste of money. I've searched the forum up down left and right and can't seem to find anything about it being done. Any info anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance..

I don't know about the rifeling, but enlarging the throttle body bores (it there is enough material) will help on a "built" motor, but you must match the cylinder port opening & intake manifold to the new throttle body size.
This mod will give more top-end, but at the cost of the low-end, so its not for everybody. Aloha Alex

Yeah Alex boring them larger will cost torque to get ponies. I don't want to make it larger as much as put a spiral rifleing on the inside much like a throttle body space for an auto, this causes the air the spin thus at wot packs more air in with a higher atomized fuel charge which equals better a better more complete burn thus giving you additional power. I know that it works awesome on fuel injected two stroke snow machines, and made for around 10 additional ponies on my race car.(can't be exact also added stiffer valve springs and larger cam and ported the exhaust on the head to match the header exactly = 35 extra ponies giving the TB credit for what we gained above what the tuners at tectonics told us we would from the other mods) I can't see why it wouldn't help here. I don't know about you but I can't not go wide open when I'm on an on ramp getting onto the hiway, exiting a corner at a stop light with no one in front, or just about any other time I have the opportunity to, I grab a huge handful and listen to my hyper sing, while hugging it with my knees. If I can get even 2 extra horse and 1 extra footpound for around 300.00 it will be one of the cheaper mods to do. Stacks are the best mod by far, exhaust is a good one too but so expensive to gain 4-10 ponies on these bikes. Lighter flywheel doesn't gain any extra just lets you use what u have sooner. I've got these, my exhaust allbeit is redneck factory modded exhaust. (flapper removed completly, cans truly cored and converted into through flow silencers, and Lv decat) but it also only set me back 350.00 (250.00 was decat alone) and sounds MEAN! Just looking for other ways to gain a horse or two without opening the motor or breaking the bank.

Try the mod & do a before & after dyno run, then post up your results! If it works I may try it. Aloha Alex

that was my plan. It'll take a bit though found the TB's on ebay, getting bids from the shops I know do good work. Gotta wait for spring to get bike to the dyno. We've gotten so much snow this year my toy trailer is snowed in and it's a lifted badboy trailer designed to go where ever the tow rig can tow it which right now is no where. When I get the TB's in I'll send em off and when I get them back I'll schedule a before and after set of dyno runs for the bike. Will post the results but don't hold your breath we're probably looking at 3-4 months all told.
