and "while in there...."

Santa brought me the extended tank. I just now found a free weekend to install it. So I followed the nicely documented steps from cycle-works.

But I figured...I am already taking stuff apart, so while in there...why not paint the subframe red? It always bugged me in its raw silver color. And then I saw that despite my bypass...I still had the butterfly motor and cables attached to the exhaust. Hmmm...gotta take that crap off. And then...I thought...why not wire in that extra stoplight above the license plate?

It is the famous "while in there" symptom, and this is the result:

large tank comes with pod filters w/o stacks. The airbox will not fit with the large tank.

Itīs a treasure box...

@v12gte, I know how that feels. All of a sudden you got a big basket case full of parts. But itīs going to be worth it. Just donīt let it get out of hand. It does, really quick!

the air box is now out, with the pod filters securely mounted in its place. It took me a while to realize I needed to yank the old plenum hoses off the intake. Pod filters mount straight onto the flange. Doh.
From reading this forum...I am told that the velocity stacks do not work with the extended tank, thus the thread about the medium-range tank. I think I am good on that one.

Next challenge for me is more trivial:
The Hyper tail light has three wires, while the Autozone extra license plate stopper gizmo has only two. Time to find the volt meter. Or the wiring diagram on that CD I bought a while back.

Fun times this weekend, all after watching the 49ers win, of course.

PS. I did get that smaller and lighter Shorai battery, so that should be the last one "while in there".

airbox is now off and in storage, painted subframe attached, and.... i have spent the last 30 mins looking for two missing bolts. I usually tape all hardware to the part, but I must have been called into the house by one of the kids....because I put the bolts somewhere safe !http://www.ducati.ms/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif

Haha, did you look in your pockets? Worst place to keep tools and parts I found.
Just in case you need a replacement...
