So I just bought the DP Cams.....

I searched for a tutorial but couldnt find one.

Heres my stupid question:
Is this harder than a typical guy can do In the garage?
Special tools required?

Whats a fair cost to have a dealer install them?

If your asking if you can do it, then you most likely shouldn't touch it, its a pain in the ass ive done it twice and need to do it again here soon

Special tools: the cam tool for the nut on the end of the cam, a pulley holder and the tools for adjusting the valves

And if your paying someone else to do it look at the price of a valve adjustment plus two hours labor

Thanks!
Why do you need to do the cams again?
How much time did it take for you to complete?

Did you get the ecu that goes with the cams or just the cams?

I believe you need both and the map that goes along.

I just paid my local shop and had a dyno tune run after.

Pulled em out of one bike and gonna put em in my new one. If you know what your doing it can be done pretty quick like 3 hours or less. But I'm kinda paranoid about this crap so I take longer just to make sure everything is legit. If your mechanically inclined and are into buying tools go for it though

I already have the cams ecu, but I did buy the kit that has the cams ecu included.
Ive had the cams ecu in since I put stacks on.

Now Im second guessing my purchase, as a 5 HP gain over what I have may not be worth the cost of the cams and install. Just had valves checked about 600 miles ago.....

You should probably just sell them to me, I've got valves coming up in about a 1000 miles or so.
