Kickstand Switch grinding on ground?
Ok, I did a search and came up with nothing. So my kickstand switch has some drag marks on it from getting it over a bit. Anyone else had this issue? I'm kinda scared if I keep doing it, the bike may shut off mid corner or something and toss me off. Although it'll prob just coast to a stop I'm thinking worst case scenario here. Anyone think i should just get rid of the switch altogether?

I would think that there is a whole lot more that would touch ground before the kickstand switch. Like foot pegs, headers, etc. Could it be that something was kicked off of the road that hit the switch?

It's deff possible, but it's a pretty clean scrape. Plus I've got rear sets that put the pegs up a bit. It's odd though cause I used to drag the kickstand on my old hyper but not this one. Just the switch has a mark on it

Dude....Moto GP is looking for you. If you can drag a sidestand switch...you're worth more money than Casey Stoner.
Please post up a pic of the sides of your tires. I need to see them chickenstrips.

Us rednecks that can't ride too well don't have no freeways cuz. Post up those tire pics as evidence of your superior cornering techniques.

when i would ride foot out SM style i would grind my kickstand. i just took my angle grinder to it and took some edge off and was fine ever sense. about two months later i was doing my normal go over the bike and noticed the two allens holding my kick stand was loose so that might have caused it. but either was yes it happened to me and i fixed it both ways, redneck style and real world style, haha

El tardo's advise seems to be the best.
1. grind away what you can.
2. consider switching up your body style. I don't know if you ride the bike motard style or roadrace style.
3. adjust suspension to get you more ground clearance. Add more ride height and align fork tubes up evenly with triple clamps.
I personally don't drag anything with stock rear sets. I ride the hyper on the track once/year in the advanced group in my track club. So, the pace is much faster than anyone should ever be riding on the street.
If you would like some advice on body position, there are a couple of former racers on here and some others that have done many track days on their hypers. 08hyper, decreasingdave, ben710 (I think) are just a few on the top of my mind (sorry to those I forgot to mention).
Possibly a dedicated thread about body position could help.
