Less sensitive 1100s brake pads.
Does anyone know of less initial grab pads for the mono blocks?
These brakes have great stopping power but suck in a panic situation where you tend to snatch the lever. I have tried just using 1 finger covering the front but that seems unnatural and prefer to use 2 fingers. I almost binned it the other day when a cager turned left infront of me.
Do any manufacturers make an organic pad for these calipers?

I know what you mean, I've been there and hit the ground when I lost the front end. If you search, there are numerous threads regarding this. I have new found respect for my Hyper and tip tow in the rain.

If you don't like your brakes I'll trade you my stock evo brakes for yours.

I haven't had any problems with mine in the rain. Rain was pouring but I could still hit the brakes hard enough to get my rear end to lift slightly. As long as you build the brakes instead of snatching them it shouldn't be a problem. It's a reflex though and a hard one to get rid of, but once you do

I don't recall ever being in a "panic" situation and "snatched" the lever (50+ years of riding). It is a motorcycle, not a car, and as such requires a slightly different application of skills. I recommend you practice watching the traffic a bit more and always have a plan in your head for what you're going to do and there will never be a "panic" situation. A bit of practice with one finger braking, not just to cover the lever, but use ONLY one finger on the front brake lever, you will be better off IMO. My 1198SP and 1100SP only require one finger to hit maximum braking force. Brembo brakes are awesome!
There is a video floating around here somewhere of a guy "panicing" and "snatching" the front brake lever on a track and the bike doing several front-endos off the track.

Call Braketech, they may have organic pads for your Hyper, & start looking at different MFG's brake pads for different compounds.
I am using Braketech cast iron rotors, with their ceramic/organic race pad, really excellent feel with no hard intial "bite" & works even better when hot, but this is a very expensive way to go. Aloha Alex

ciao alex ...
are the axis rotors the ductile iron rotors they make? if yes, did you need to run spacers on the caliper mounts?
