snatching
Coming from the smoothness of the triumph triple T800xc, I understand that the ducs are a bit snatchy going through towns and the like, but this evo corse seems to be really lumpy done low. You would nearly think that she was missing. Oh she is giong fine on the faster roads and I was just wondering if this in normal. Thanks in inticipiation of you cleaver answers

Twins like to be revved. If you are using the same RPMs on your Ducati as you were on the TR triple, chances are you are lugging the engine. This is bad for the bottom end. Keep the revs in town around 3800 - 5000, and you'll be okay.

I have an optimizer that will eliminate all other down low problems, if you want it? I was in a parade at 2500 to 3500 RPMs and 10 min in to it the bike was running smooth.

Yes, most twins come from the factory, mapped so poorly as to barely run, thanks to EPA and the various other European authorities.
I almost sold my brand new Aprilia Factory, because it was such a turd.
After a Power Commander and a custom map, it was like a GP bike and so smooth on the street, that I couldn't believe it was the same moto!
Every twin I own gets the same treatment today!

One of the first lessons I learned when I bought my first ducati (1098)....don't go below 4,000rpm.
:-D

so you just brought it to a service shop with a dyno slapped on a PC and had them tune it? problem solved? i've been toying around with the idea of doing this but is it actually worth it to just get the low end sorted out? i didn't buy the bike to lump around at 2200rpm and i already have the new chip for the termi exhaust... is it THAT much of an improvement?

ccemn, would you say the smoothness came from the custom map or the PC5?

I don't know why Dyno-jet doesn't just sell the optimizer separately. It is essentially a stand alone device that clears the crapy closed loop problem up. If this is only problem you have with your bike this will fix it and YOU will not need a PCV, custom tune or re-flash.

you're right Akasam but the optimizer is only a band-aid specifically for the CL. however i'm also thinking of getting the LV decat and my bike already has that popping sound on deceleration which means it's lean (right?) so if i'm spending around $100 anyways then it's probably best to get my ecu reflashed instead for the same amount and get the CL and OL taken cared of all at once. am i making any sense?
