mr. mike here has a closed loop re-flash.
and for the other guy that asked i have stacks on my 796 and almost make as much power as a stock 1100.

imo the best way to go is seven9six with the auto tune. the only reason i have my set-up with custom map is i got it for free.

i didnt want to post cause it will just carry on to long so i will make it short. a generic map is just that.doesnt take in account of altitude out side temp and other things that come into play when tuning. it can get you close but not all the free power you have at tap.

and ducati can and never will have a fix for the low end issues as they have to do that to be able to sell the bike in America. (called emissions)

keep on trucking!!!!!!

motowheels and pro italia told me they will reflash and remove the close loop. are they wrong? is there no way of removing it even with a reflash?

I just got my ECU back from Motowheels and it is all open loop. The auto tune is doing its thing perfectly. I am dialing in the maps as we speak. A long ride; trying to get all the throttle positions with 30-60 secs in-between and a long road where you can go WOT a few times and you will see the map change. When you get back from the ride send the map to the PCV and repeat. Do this a few times and you will have the next best thing from a custom DYNO tune.

That is great deal! Pitty, we don't have motowheels.com in australia

I am seeking stock ecu remapping locally. Can you tell me what I should tell the tech what I need to do for this re-flashing task? Remove sensor? Improve low end? Remove EU restriction? or just optimize it. etc? What should I tell them?

I don't see how it's possible to erase the closed loop and make it a full open loop map. If they did that somehow it's highly illegal and they won't be doing it for very long. It's a HUGE EPA fine if they get caught. The EPA fined Dynojet a MILLION DOLLARS for doing it. That's why they sell the PC5 as an OFF ROAD product now.

Really? You really don't get it? It is quite easy if you have access to the ECU code. You can also set it up to run in closed loop IF the O2 sensors are connected, and in full open loop if they are not connected.

Really? You didn't know that you can buy the PC5 in RACE or STREET versions?

You should get caught up with reality!

They will dyno and tune the stock ecu. He said he can get me 10 percent more horses on the low and mid range about 2 to 3 percent on the top range and make my hyper 796 run smooth as silk (for a twin). He also told me that velocity stacks or the MWR air box mod won't give my bike more then a couple of horses unless I had done cams and other engine internals. He explained that my motor does not get as much out of air box mods like the 1100 hyper would. Oh and the cost to dyno and tune my ECU would be around 600 bucks all in. That sounds like a lot to me (but then again you dont need a piggy back system) and this is the only legit Ducati performance shop that I know of that caters specifically to Ducati bikes. Any other informed opinions?
Which shop are you dealing with? I live in K-W and would like to talk to them about similar mods.
