New member - prospective Hyper owner
What's up everyone...
Just giving a small intro here. New to the forum, just started my search for my Hypermotard and thought I'd register on a good forum to help gain some knowledge about the bike and community. Live in Seattle and already having a hard time finding any Hypers for sale in my area. Was initially looking for pre-owned but I might end up buying a 0 mile if I can't find the right bike.
Anyways - looking forward to getting familiar here and joining the club! Planning on riding off the lot sometime in February once I find the right one...

Welcome to the asylum. This is one of the best places to get all the info, good and bad, about this strange bike.
I have an 08 delivered in late 07 and it is one of the bikes I own that I wouldn't want to part with.
Keep looking for a used one, resale stinks for used two wheelers everywhere now. You can find some really amazing deals.
Good luck and welcome to the club.

Thanks. A couple quetsions:
What makes it "strange" Anything to be wary about?
And do you think it's more wise to find a used bike instead of new? A new 1100 is a little more than I was thinking of spending but not beyond what I can afford. A 769 would probably suit my needs just fine as well.

Well i'm supposed to be picking up a new evo sp cosre today and if i get around to it i will let you know what i think of her. i had an 1100 2009 hyper and thought that she was a great bike. I regret the day that i sold it. If i was you I would go for the 1100 as you have that extra power if needed.

WELCOME ABOARD JCM5
Remember the feeling of your first dirtbike/minibike ride? Well the Hyper gives you that on every ride. At least for me it does. One test ride and I was hooked!

It's just different, sometimes it's a sport bike, sometimes it's a dirtbike and sometimes it's old style standard bike. It took me a while to get used to it, almost sold it once, now if it's not too cold it's my go-to ride.
If you can afford it new is always best, you can break it in right, still, some of the deals out there can save you a fortune.
796 or 1100? Only you can say. I love my 1100.
