shift lever

does anyone know if the shift lever for an 08 hyper is the same part used on any other bikes? I had one of the stupidest low sides today on my way to the car wash. My sliders and zeta armor hand guards protected everything except for the shift lever. The spool snapped off. I haven't crashed in 4 years, so I guess I was due. My pit bike doesn't count!

Ebay has them for the hyper for $50-$90. That is crazy. There are some on there for multistradas, ST2/3/4's for $10. That's what I am talking about!

I know a guys that used a piece of radiator hore, the overflow type (small) and bolted that to his remaining piece where the spool broke off. It has worked very well for many years.

Maybe now is a good excuse for buying Woodcraft/CFM rearsets.

Pit bikes are dangerous.

Sato rearsets are bad ass, my shifter was bent and I was able to straighten it out in a vice. Is it the actual lever that's bent or the thread stock to the shifter sticking out of the case?

And sorry to read about the lowside....shit sucks.

Freezer, sorry to hear about your mishap.

The parts number is 456.2.035.2A. Google comes up with:

Multistrada 1000/1100, Hypermotard. Maybe the baby-Multi has it as well (IŽd guess so!).

I have one with some minor rash on the tip if you want. Ya replacement of the stock part cost me 75 after shipping.

it is the actual lever. Specifically, the spool (the things that you grab with your toe to change gears)at the end of the lever snapped off.

Well, in that case you can fix it really easy and cheap.

Get yourself a long bolt, some locknuts and a piece of plastic tubing(to protect your shoe or boot) and make your own spool.

This is what I did on another bike, but it shouldn't be any different from the Duc
