Hyper Undertail Gap Solution

On the Hypermotard with the single sided exhaust there's a gap between the back of the tank, and the under tail cover. Dirt and water fly up hit the under side of the seat, and get on the electronics. I've been puzzling over how to fix this for awhile. I was looking a a New Hyper a couple of weeks ago, and noticed it had a shield to cover the gap, but it gets removed for the race exhaust. Hurray I have one laying in my parts bin, a starting point for the mod.
The shield piece back, and front

The gap.

I removed the tool box see: Hyper Tool Box
Took off the tail light, and muffler bracket. Then I held the the shield up and scribed the cuts. Which I did with a dremel.

Shield cut in from underneath

Muffler bracket, and plexi undertail cover mounted

Then I mounted a rubber strip acrossed the top on the inside, zip tied to either side if the frame

The underside done

Very nice job!
I had the same problem on my S4RS, after I did the tail chop, I reused the plastic parts to remedy the problem in the same way. It also created the perfect spot to mount the Scorpio alarm system.
