seperation issue w/ clutch pressure plate

I'm trying to swap out the factor plate and install a new DP pressure plate. This should be straight foward but I'm having an issue trying to seperate the factor plate from the pushrod. I've been told this should easily seperate but for some reason it won't. The instuctions don't ellaborate on how to do this and I'm hardly a trained mechanic so I'm reaching out to anyone who might offer some insight.

Use a small drift pin to drive the push rod out, use some anti seize upon new installation. It's a common issue. I hope this helps. Good luck!
