Help!
My 2008 1100-S just started to do something strange!
Occasionally, when I go to start the bike, the amber engine light stays on, when I turn the key on, and when hitting the starter button, nothing happens?
Fortunately, I can remedy this by turning the key off, then turning it back on again. The light goes off & the bike starts?!
Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

Check the battery voltage after the bike has not run for a few hours. Sounds like it may be going flat. You could also try cleaning the battery connections.

clean the battery/wire terminals and make sure they are tightly secured when you re install them.
I had this happen to my 08 after the battery all but died. I put it on a battery tender for about 2 weeks, cleaned the battery terminals and the wire terminals and i have not seen the problem repeated and it starts stronger than it did before....

An issue with the immoblizer has been documented here, check archives. I need to cycle the key up to three time to start.

Thanks guys! I'm going to check the battery & I had already planned on upgrading the battery leads by Fab'ing heavier, more multistrand wires with soldered on terminal ends.
If it's the immoblizer, what then? Am I fuct?

There is a bypass mode where you enter the number from your red card in the worst case.

Just ordered a set of these: starting upgrade for Ducati motorcycles
I figured for $75. bucks, it wouldn't pay for me to Fab something, plus their Vids are pretty impressive, if they're for real?
Hoping it's not an immoblizer problem!

75.00 is too much for 15.00 worth of 4ga. wire, 2.00 worth of heat shrink, and 10.00 worth of connectors. I saw those guys auctions on Ebay watched their vids. then went to the electronics store here and paid 27.00 for the parts to do this myself. And the 4ga. cable they provide has 1050 strands the cable I bought has 1660 strands by the #'s they use, I will flow 100% of the current the bike needs to start. I'm glad these guys are out there but the mark up they charge is little bit high. But knowledge is power and in the realm of motorcycles 75.00 is not exactly into the expensive realm. But I'm a tight wad and 27.00 is even less into the expensive realm and 48.00 more toward my auto tune unit.

I'm aware of all of that. Exactly why I was going to do the same thing.
Then, I started to think; I'll be 61 in two days, the time added to Fab it, vs what I feel what little time I have left is worth, I'll just drop the $75 and do a quick, easy install, hopefully remedying my problem!
