2012 Hyper stalling on decel.
My new HM will sometimes stall when I am coming to a stop. Does anyone know about this? It happens about every time I ride but usually just once. The instruments stay lit up and there is no sputtering, it just kind of turns off when the clutch is in.

Brandon, do a search on this forum if you haven't already. This was/maybe is, a common problem because the bike is set to run very lean to meet emissions standards. There are many riders on here that know much more than I do about it.
I installed a full termi and ecu when my bike was new (08) along with a G2 throttle disc and my bike runs great. However, from time to time under certain circumstances and once in a blue moon, mine will do the same thing. It is rare, though. Chuck was riding my bike in front of the Deal's Gap store in 2010 and it happened when coming down the hill, coasting, throttle shut. It didn't happen anywhere else. A year later, in the exact same location, it did the same thing with me!
Anyway, the direction that I would recommend is to read up here and get as much knowledge as you can stand, then get with your dealer to document the issue and stay with it until you are satisfied.

Awesome thank you! I have been looking around on they HM threads and haven't really seen much but I am new here. The bike is stock and it is happening more than I would like for only having 450 miles on it.
Thanks again. That's a pretty crazy coincidence to have that happen at the same place a year apart though!

Note: I also forgot to mention that it's usually after getting on it a little bit. Not too much as it is still a new bike but at about 7 or 8000 RPMs

Maybe the lack of flywheel weight too?
I've had my Evo for a couple of weeks and the same thing has happened to me a couple of times, as you mention, decelerating after giving it some. I have also noticed a lot of popping from the exhaust on decel too...

Hm well it's good to know that it's not just my bike doing it. I mentioned it to the dealer a couple weeks ago and he didn't know too much about. Hopefully the tech will be able to help out when I take it in for it's first service soon.
I've also noticed the popping on decel. But I haven't thought much of it. Would that be something to be concerned about?

Should be a fueling issue, popping is usually the bike running too lean.
You may have luck adjusting the idle air screws on the throttle bodies. Do a search for that. Make sure your dealer will synchronize the throttle bodies, itīs worth doing. With the 08 models you can do it your own, not sure about the 2012 bikes with the newer ECUs.

Thanks Ben! I did a search and found that what you recommended helped someone with the same exact problem. I guess the air screws and throttle body synch is the way to go.

You might want to look into a software called DucatiDiag. Last time I checked the guy who made it was working on getting the newer ECUs working. It lets you reset the TPS, all you need is a laptop and 2 cables (available on ebay).

I believe the bike came with that software. I have the DDA that came with the bike but no cables for the ECU. Not to mention my lack of knowledge of the mechanics and inner workings of the bike.
