Does anyone have a Power Commander program and DP Cams that they are mapped for? Can I have it/buy it?
As some of you know, I had Dusty custom map my Hyper while I was at Dynojet and he installed the PCv and Quickshifter. I have the DP Cams (not installed, no ECU) and am overdue for a valve service (by 2500 miles! ). So, what I'm planning is to use someone else's map until I can get back up to Dusty to re-map my bike with the cams plus a few other goodies that will be going onto the bike.
The Go Daddy shop in Phoenix will be doing the install work but they want $250 for a custom map and I would rather have Dusty do it as then I know it's getting done right, plus I get a trip to Vegas out of it.
You can contact me via PM if you don't wish to post publicly.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave....to answer..no they don't. I know Dusty can make you an awesome map....just like the Ducshop made me a map. But seriously the Auto Tune does a better job because the tuner can only stay on that dyno for an hour or two. It's not enough time...and the dyno can't match how you ride the bike on the road. What i'm saying is...the Autotune is better than any custom map....and it will tune the a/f perfectly for the new cams...or anything that you might change in the future. The days of the custom maps are just about over.
I beg to differ, just because you can get a possible "perfect" fuel map with "auto tune" does not mean the best performance, depending on different engine configs, there are times where there are areas in the rev range that like a richer or leaner mixture that will produce more HP outside the preset "zone" and only with a dyno & a good operator can you get the "max" HP out of a fuel injected motor. This takes real dyno time. Aloha Alex

What abbydigital can assert proper a/f settings based on its resulting "diagnosis" of tooling around upon legal roadways?
All power throughout the entire rev range, and in every gear takes real time on a Dyno. I speak from Mi own personal experience: Mi tuner dissuaded employing the AutoTune I had purchased. He races WERA... Seemed to know his ish. Besides, the Auto Tune + time spent tinkering (in Mi mind) costs just as much as a proper tune.
The only way that I could justify keeping the AutoTune is if it changed the a/f on the fly. But it doesn't. They should call it Otto Tune X. But marketing is a b!tch, aye?
While lying in bed this morning contemplating getting up, I had an epiphany. The only way that someone elses map would work with my set up is if they had the same ECU as I. I have the 2-1 ECU, which of course is rare for someone else to still be running if they have the DP Cams as they would probably be running the DP Cams ECU as well.
So now, what I need is someone that has an 08-09 Hyper with DP Cams but running the 2-1 ECU and a PCv with custom map for their set-up. And, oh yeah, they must be willing to share.
Sigh.......alas, I believe this is the ultimate longshot.
FYI, I spoke to Dusty about the Autotune and while he didn't talk me out of it, he thought it wasn't what I was looking for. I think he's right. Alex brought up the same points in his thread above.
What do I know of the Autotune is that if you are tooling around running errands and then decide to hit the twisties the next day, your tune is not optimal, and vice versa.

The AutoTune DOES adjust on the fly.....AND you can set it for a target that is leaner or richer throughout the range.
Sorry...but if you go buy one...you'll learn something. The literature that comes with the AutoTune claims is is always "learning" and adjusting...on the fly...while you ride. Some days are cold and it runs different for a mile or two...and then it adjusts...and it's back to being optimum again. As fas as the twisties go.....that all i use my Hyper for. I trailer it 100 miles North...ride all day....and trailer back home.

Well now I stand corrected, as I was going off the knowledge I have regarding the Bazzaz product. Probably because I run Bazzaz Z-FI... Not PC-anything.
Here is what I copied from another forum.
Disclaimer: I work for Bazzaz and am here representing the product.
Wow. A few things to cover. Glad I got here!
First, the 'Autotune' is a decent attempt to replicate the original Bazzaz 'Z-AFM' self mapper. The invention of the self mapping module was in 2007 by Bazzaz, based on the race data analysis of Ammar Bazzaz while working as Mat Mladin's crew chief. The algorithms used are very much race proven and superior to what is otherwise available.
The other big difference is the way it collects and applies the data. The Z-AFM is not closed loop, so it is not trying constantly make changes based on info from a throttle/RPM combo that has just passed. We felt that a singularly closed system is too reactive. With the Z-AFM, the data is collected while riding. After doing so, plug in via USB, view the recommended changes, and simply click a button to apply them to your base map. Your bike now has a map and is ready with the changes to act. We find it more responsive this way.
It also has a more rapid data processor.
Finally, the Bazzaz Z-AFM also maps below 20% throttle! 0 - 100%
Right, so if I understand correctly, DynoJet's AutoTune goes a step beyond the Bazzaz Z-AFM and makes changes to the map on the fly. Interesting! I still won't change, though. I would consider purchasing the Z-AFM only if I was a pro touring racer, subjecting Mi muchine to new climate every weekend. Then and only then, would I justify this. I'm just shredding SoCal is all. Wasn't trying to be a jerk. It just comes naturally!

No problem. I am VERY skeptical about aftermarket products and even more critical of fuel mapping. I hate a bike with bad mapping or incorrect jetting.
It's a shame that the entire exhaust has to be removed and new o2 bungs welded in the header pipes to make the AutoTune work....but it does. I'm real happy with mine....and it's far better than any custom map can be because weather conditions change and the custom map stays the same on our Ducs.
