Fixing a wrecked/basket case hyper, lots of help needed
I waded up my hyper three years ago, bought it back from the ins but it has sat for nearly the entire time in storage. Im looking to put it back together finally and have lots of questions(sorry). Its going together w crf bodywork and a new custom subframe. Many of u may have seen pics of a couple multistrada done up that way awhile back....
Ill have a bunch of questions, but for starters the bike lowsided abruptly on the same side as the ecu. Its been so long and its half dissassembled(i got married and the bike commenced collecting dust) ive forgotten whats what and how it was assembled...
For starters there is a red and a blue large plug going into the computer. How are they oriented? The side of the bike hit the ground so hard all the plastic is gone and i need to know which plug goes into which port on the ecu. The ecu i have is damaged and not mounted so i dont have a reference for top and bottom of it niether. Eeek!
One side of the ecu has wider spaced bolt holes than the other. One plug is red, one is blue... Thats all i have for reference at this point... All the mounts are broke, so its only gonna get more complicated... I just wanna get it to fire so i have a sudden jolt of motivation to commence fixing it

In my opinion, I would try to find a new used harness and ecu. Shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Then flash the ecu to disable the immo. It would help to see a pic of the harness plug and ecu as well to see how bad we are talking.

Thanks guys!!! That pic really helped. For now im gonna try and get it running, in the future ill most likely need a new harness as the connections literally are held together with electrical tape at this point...

Does anyone have a pic of the ecu and plugs on the bike? The plastic is gone that would 'key' the dirction these would plug in(destroyed) so i dont know which port goes on which side and in which direction....
The local ducati dealer(modesto ducati) was absolutely fantastic, but they closed im gonna try to get a pic up here but im stuck using an iphone and its not cooperating, emailing me pics so i can post...

I could text message pics to someone if they could post them for me. I would be forever grateful

agree ... deeanna and the crew @ modesto where the best. that's where i purchased my hyper.
really sad that they closed.
suggest you give the guys @ nichols sport bikes a call. they are located over in milpitas, so a little bit of a drive for you ... but mike and josh will be able to provide great support via phone. and if you need any work done on the hyper, nichols is the ONLY shop i trust to do work on my ducatis.

Yes! Years ago don, deanna, myself and many others rode together and actually had a club. We called ourselves the 'sic ph@ckerz'. We did a lot of track days and weekend rides together... Good people for sure! I bought my hyper from them, definitely sux that shop closed. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff....
If it werent for riding w them, id be just another squid trying to go fast don taught me a lot back in those days... There were some pretty talented guys in that club, i believe a couple of them ended up doing pretty good in the afm stuff.
Thanks for the nichols info!
