796 manifold kit fit the stock silencers?
Ducati Hypermotard - Manifold Unit for Homologated Silencer Kit
I see it says it is designed to compliment the Termi slip-on BUT will it fit onto the stock mufflers? Can someone set me straight on this matter?
Does anyone have just this modification? and how does it perform?
Also are the stock mufflers on the 796 the same thing as the stock cans on the 1100 models?

It should fit the stock cans, since the slip-ons are just that. (they leave the 'down pipe'). I have the Arrow manifold (same thing). You get a bit better sound, tad bit better performance, but nothing major. And ,if you ONLY do the manifold and don't get an ECU remap (or a Power Commander V with a custom dyno-run map), you will get popping on downshift, etc... (Which is my experience right now)
The stock 796 mufflers are NOT the same as the 100 stock mufflers, as somebody once told me. The connector pipe to the rest of the system is different.

yes, it will fit the stock cans, i have the set up w/o DP ECU. i was able to pick up a new termignoni manifold kit on ebay for $125 w/o the ecu from a member here. yes, there is popping, but i had popping issues with the stock set up.

Thanks Spindrift, I think I got you. The pipe that connects to the mufflers remains for the manifold kit to connect to. Ok cool, I was thinking the manifold setup completely replaced the existing pipe on the bike, I see now after taking a better look. There's a guy on ebay selling his 1100 stock mufflers and said they'll fit anything so i was curious about that. I was wondering if they would fit and would provide better flow out of the smaller motor.

Nice sounds like you got an epic deal man cus you can just buy the termi slip-on setup eventually and you'll have saved some money. I know what you mean about the popping too, definitely standard with the stock setup, kinda sounds cool though haha.
So fellas, I'm new to bikes and stuff so tell me if I'm thinking correctly. The bike has stock mufflers and catalytic converters, the DP manifold kit and ECU seems like the most bang for the buck to me since you are removing the catalytic converter by changing the pipes (it looks more efficient then just a Cat-Delete set up as well). The Termi-Slip on with the ECU just changes the mufflers... are the stock ones really that restrictive where just changing them would give you more power then changing the manifolds?

No, manifold kit replaces everything, including the mid pipe that connects to the pipes. I believe LV CAT delete is the only system that retains the stock mid pipe. Arrow/Zard replaces the whole system minus pipes as well.

Yeah, I think I got a good deal, depends on the perspective, Termi/DP stuff are way overpriced IMO. I jumped on it as I plan to go with Termi slip-ons eventually for a full system. I'd go with slip-on/DP ECU/Airbox first if I were you. Both stock cans and CAT are extremely restrictive.

The slip-on with the ECU first eh? I'm not set on anything but i'll think about it.
Does any of this stuff come separately???
Like why is everything a kit with this and that and it's not everything you need or want. Slip-ons with the ECU and Airbox, well what if I want the the Cat Converter gone? So I buy the manifold kit but that comes with an ECU as well that I have to sell?, WTF!? and a slip on muffler with a computer is 2k, GTFO!! I don't feel like dropping 3k for the setup I want and have to sell an extra ECU or something, and I don't feel like hunting around on ebay all the time for the right item to show up...
Being a noob, the way i'd set up my bike is with a termi slip on, manifold kit, ecu and the ducshop hyper stacks or something. I like the race set up but I like the dual pipes under the seat better. I dunno we'll see eventually.
F it, I'll probably just get the race set up and change the rear end tail light set up and that'll be that

They do that to maximize their profits, just a guess
There are other options available such as slip-ons from various manufacturers such as LV, Arrow, Zard, etc. etc. if you don't want to drop $3K. Of course to get rid of the fueling issues, you will have to invest additional $ on PCV and such.
Far as I know they won't sell those parts separately, I was told "they are meant to create a system that works well together..."
LV and other CAT eliminator system improve sound and performance and many are happy with it.
If you get both kits and have an extra ECU, I may know someone that could use it.

btw, take a look at the sweet Arrow anodized aluminum slipons. Only $900. Yeah, they don't come with any type of 'performance ECU' (like the DP-ECU that comes withthe Termi slipons) But I have a PowerCommander V and am going to do some other airbox mods, so I will have to get a custom tuned Powercommander map anyway.
