Mine's been on for the last 3000 miles.

It's just an indicator. It has no control over the operation of the bike.

if you swing by your dealer (assuming there is one near you) it only takes them 5 minutes to take it off

That is one reason I shelled out the $25 for the cables and did the DucatiDiag... that and I am no where near a dealer.

It won't degrade the performance of the bike, but it's any eyesore and annoying to see every time you look at the cluster when riding

Mine didn't...If you've ever shown your face at your local dealer this is the kind of thing you can usually get away with not being charged for.

OP: might as well call and ask them.

Cut a wrench shape out of electrical tape and apply over offending wrench...

Some have said dealers won't remove display because they are not sure that the necessary work/service has been done!!!!
