Will not shift at IDLE

If I don't get the bike into Neutral before I come to a stop or the wheels stop turning Clutch fully in gauge the Bike will idle but at the same time be stuck into what ever gear it was in before coming to a halt. Im not trying to snap the shifter off trying to force it in I probably could jump On it and it wont go. So whats really going on?

Is the clutch fully disengaged, if not then maybe it needs bleeding, adjustment or fixing.
Does shifting get more problematic as the bike warms up? I wonder if those of us who live in a warm climate may benefit with a thicker oil grade. I have a larger oil cooler on mine which seems to help

When the Bike is up to Temp it Shifts Fine Up/down If I'm on the Freeway there is not A problem in the World when I'M in City Traffic I'm Finished!!..I can get the Bike into Neutral from any gear While the wheels are turning. It becomes a problem when I come to a complete stop. It sounds to me like the Clutch is not Fully Disengaging..When I squeeze the Clutch lever its really Stiff its not Spongy and appears to performing like it supposed to. I'm thinking the problem is happening inside the components of the Clutch Assembly. This ain't my first bike but it is the first time I owned a DUCATI. I never Tore into this area before. Can I make some Adjustments From out side looking in Or do I have to start removing nuts and bolts to get where I need to be??.Clutch Stack Height?? I'm not quite sure what that is A picture might help me get an Idea Option 2 would be to Dive into and Learn Bye Trial and Error. Thanks very much ahead of time for the Helpful suggestions.

Check the oil temp differences between freeway operation and city traffic.
My gear box got very notchy when temps got very high in city traffic with no air flowing through the cooler.

I now have a larger oil cooler.

Where is it icy cold in Honolulu?

And, take the bike back to south seas. Although If you only paid 13k, I doubt you bought it there.

sounds to me that the clutch plates are dragging a bit. hard to tell unless i rode it. by your sig you have a 1100 so that means a dry clutch. have you done the open clutch cover mod to let air in so the dry plates don't get to hot? the stock clutch slave are know to just go bad for no reason, not saying thats it.
all i can say is if it works fine on the freeway and not in the streets the clutch is getting to hot and getting grabby. try a open clutch cover.BTW you didn't say how many miles are on the bike?

don't worry you will get it fixed. law of the land is if you own a ducati or any Italian bike you have to become a novice mechanic to own it.

and what the hell is this cold shit in Hawaii? i lived there for yrs and its the only place you can wear shorts yr around!!!! hell i didn't even own a jacket when i lived there and never wore pants unless it was a special place we had to go to .

I Live on the top of Maunakea I sleep under the Telescope at Nite = )..Haha JK..Well I ment the bike was Icy cold not the atmospheric temperature. Icy may have not been the best choice of words..I Live on the EAST SIDE and yes you lucky if you see a Low of 70 degrees in Hawaii period well anyway back to the subject I here I see everything is aiming about Temperature Temperature Temperature well I don't think it has Much to do about Heat within in the bike maybe I'm wrong I do have a after market Clutch cover for extra cooling.13 Gs on the Low side all said 15Gs with the Extra stuff they sell you. Take it back to South Seas for what so they can Charge me A MILLION dollors for SHIT work.2000 miles on the Enigina. I forgot to Mention I bang Long distence wheelies on the Freeway I can hold a 2 mile on the back wheel on a Stright shot I POP the Living Death out of the Clutch to get it to balance Point on The Freeway 3rd gear Crack trottle hanging you ass off the tail end won't even bring the Front end off the Ground so Rape the Trottle rape the Clutch and Walla Straight to balance Point. Just thought Id Share that.
