What is the red flash on dashboard for?

Do you notice there is a red flash at the top angle of the dashboard when you take switch the ignition off?

What is that for? can't find it in the manual.

1. to drain your battery
2. to help find your bike in a large parking lot (at night)
3. to scare thieves
4. to help guide Santa
5. to help get to the "red light" district
6.

I can tell you that item 5 doesn't work. does it blink faster as you get closer?

From my own search it's for the immobilizer.

Yea it is the alarm and it goes off after 14 days if you don't touch the bike ,I was worried about mine and called the dealer after disconnecting the battery .
I'd like to immobile the immobilizer ,thats too long to be on for and will drain your battery especially in cold weather.

Mine is a 2009 14 to 16 hours I could live with, now I know why it came with a battery tender (bought used 1500 mile just broke in ).

i tell my anti Ducati friends that's it's my asshole beacon. It flashes to attract other assholes who like Ducatis. This is met with seemingly neutral enthusiasm.
