Hyper Leaking Oil
I just bought a 2008 Hyper with 8500 miles on it about 2 weeks ago. The guy I bought it from was a pro trials rider, now in his 50s and retired. He kept exceptionally good care of the bike, everything in his garage was meticulously clean organized etc.
Since riding it around for the first week and a half I noticed that it had a very minor oil leak coming from the left hand side of the engine under a plastic cover (highlighted in red). I decided to tighten up the bolts (only the 2 on the side not the middle, highlighted in orange on the pic) in hopes it would stop the leak but it is now MUCH worse. Has anybody seen this problem before?
EDIT - It appears I fail at embedding pics so here is the link: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...027134442.jpg/
If it's an easy fix I'd like to do it myself, the more familiar with the bike I am the better. The bigger concern for me though is if I am riding it too hard or something along those lines... I love this thing and hope to keep it looking brand new as it was when I purchased it.
Any input appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Take it off and reseal it. There will either be a gasket or sealant. Real easy to do.

As HyperDuc said, easy fix.
Keep in mind that small fasteners require low torque. Sometimes tightening things up can make it worse... and if you are just putting a wrench to it, do you know how tight it is already? The answer is get a light duty inch pound torque wrench either locally or thru the great folks at California Cycleworks. (I am assuming you don't have one, of course)

I think the bigger question here is who are those chicks in your photo album?

Yes, she is. However, I cannot decide so I guess I'll just bite the bullet and take one of each...

i pinched the o ring behind that cover while swapping for my race cams, found out when i noticed the damn thing was smoking after a 30 min ride, just got a new o ring and its been good ever since, that cover is kinda tricky to get back on, get it centered and tap it good once with the back of a screw driver and it will pop into place

I had the same issue on my 08. I just tweaked the bolts a little. It still leaks a little but its easy enough to clean with a q tip. Hell its a duck and it bound to leak a little oil. I actually left it alone for a while and I guess the build up of oil on the seal kind of stopped the leak on its own.
Now to your issue sounds like you pinched the o-ring gasket, I would remove the cover and inspect the gasket and replace or reuse the gasket.

Ok so I decided to tighten it just a bit more (I was trying to be extremely gentle since it was going into plastic) It seems to have done the trick. Rode it about 60 miles yesterday and no leaks! Thanks for the help!
