You could part it out to FleaBay...

This is true in this market.

What would you recon the part out value might be? Similar position but mine's an 09 S. I've been trying to sell it for months now but it seems no one wants to pay anything more than just a smidge over free.

I'd say start at 9 and be prepared to take it down to 8.5 maybe lower if you really need to sell.

If I was in the market...
In my area I wouldn't even look at it if it was over $9k.
8-9K I'd look at it, think about it, etc.
7-8K I'd show up at your door with cash and leave with the bike.

eFFeN-A, You tell Mi! I don't speak from personal experience, but I certainly hear them coming and going! DS1100 engines always have a buyer. As do Brembo calipers/rotors, straight frames, swingarms, Ohlins shocks, and forged aluminum Marchesini wheels... Just about every part on the bike! Not so much for the gas bladder, though. You'll earn your return on the main components quickly and the less desirable items, earnings will slowly trickle, granted you aren't discouraged by first auction failure to sell...
Consider the karma it will bring, too: Aiding a privateer racer, a project, or to resurrect a fallen Duc!

Dont know if it'll help, i just picked up an 08 1100 (non s) a month or so ago and got it for $6,300. Clean title never dropped/dealer serviced and came with extended warranty (2 yrs. left) from the dealer. Had 9000mi. on her w/DP seat and some open clutch goodies. Bluebook was at $5900 trade in and $7-8ish retail. Lucky for me the guy needed to sell as was leaving the island. I think he opened with asking of $8200 and it was on craigs for a month before I called, had to let it marinate.
GL w/sale.

I traded mine in and thought about parting it out...(8-9,000)
Prolly would have got more parting it out but went for the quick deal..
If you could afford to just let it sit in the garage and gather dust rather than to let it go for such a large depreciation ...
Such a great fun bike ...
