796 stock handlebar's geometry

what's the closest handle bar geometry of the stock 796—the Carmichael or the Pastrana?

thanks.

I have Carmichael.

If you go Pro Taper EVO Carmicheal you will just have enough room for all stock stuff on your OEM hand guards.

This build used Pastrana though.(below)

yeah i actually read through that build and they used pastrana but i seem to have read more guys in this forum are using carmichael.... that's what kinda made me ask. i'm just preparing myself as to what to get so when i get a damper the whole bars/clamp/damper installs together. at least that's what i'm shooting for. myb even slip the hand guards in there as well but i'm kinda liking the stock even though the mirrors are so darn wide.... which is making me not wanna bother using it. duh! i guess it'll also depend on how high the new clamp is going to bring the bars to.

i measure my stock's width and it comes to 800 roughly just to the end of the grips. but i can't measure anything else accurately. looks like the pastrana has 2 versions according to protaper.com and it's also flatter but total rise it's roughly the same to the carmichael.

Multi-time champion...

His only deficit against Pastrana is the backflip...

What's the final answer on the width of Hyper bars?

Specifically I'm curious about a 2009 1100 - from end to end, about 32" ??

the 796 uses a smaller size steel tubing 7/8" (22mm) and not the 1-1/8" that's the norm for "real" bikes. . i've heard that it's like butter and one drop is all it takes for it to become bent but that wasn't my main reason. i bought a GPR that has a clamp that takes a 1-1/8 so i went and bought a pro taper—the Pastrana. unfortunately the area that is straight and takes all the controls is short. it's only about 7" and the stock is almost 8.5"—9". the total width is the same @ 800mm. so now i have a nice handlebar gathering dust. i ended up asking a buddy to machine me a spacer to make the 7/8 fit in the 1-1/8 clamp.

ah so it's actually mangler that gave me a warning on the length of the area for the controls. mangler, would you have a photo of yours?
