Haven't even had her for 2 months
And I got rear ended. Happend 2 sundays ago, but wanted to wait it out due to insurance(but, seems like they ain't hurrying up).
The day started out perfectly, it was 25c outside and we(me and a few friends) did a few twisties, good old fashioned fun. But then we got into a village, and you guys know the range on these bikes, 120KM and you need to stop for gas. So I spot a gas station, decide to slowly roll of the gas, signal, take a quick look and move over to the left. Just a fraction later I hear a bike accelerating behind me and suddenly I hear a wheel locking up and feel a big hit in the rear of my bike.
I managed to keep it upright, but my friend wasn't as lucky and he locked his front brake and got thrown over his bike, and his bike was totalled. He had a bruised ankle and I, amazingly had nothing. The bike however took the hit for me, and the rear subframe is crooked, and the side fairing is smashed. I think he also hit my wheel/swingarm, but untill the insurance gives me the go ahead to take it to the dealers for a thorough check I won't know for sure.
This sucks so bad. It's like we're having the worst year ever( 12 bikes have crashed, and another one just crashed yesterday). The worst thing is I've only had this bike for 2 months now and it's already wrecked.
Just needed to get that off my chest, such a waste of a perfectly good HM

Your friend rear ended you? How'd that happen? Did he slip on the throttle or something?
Man, that's a bummer.

Bloody Hell!
Just remember to add in the standard saying, "It could have been worse". I hope you bud heals up and the bike gets back to good order.
I guess on the street it wouldn't hurt to use the pit in signal as well.

Yup. I don't know what he thought. He told me that he suddenly saw me go to the left and he was too close on me so he couldn't go anywhere else but against me. I still find it odd how I didn't fall, but that's just luck I guess.

Alessandro, I was hoping to see your rebuilt Hyper this Sunday.
I guess she's still in rehab.
What are you riding to La Ducati Day then?

I see your 2 months and raise with my 5 days before I had my first incident. Took awhile but the bike and I are 100% now.
Good to hear you're ok though!
