Broken Instrument panel

Hi,
I need to change my broken instrument panel, they are telling me that it should come with a new set of keys, lock and tank lid, I don't see why..
is this the case?

Cheers,

It is my understanding that this is correct, Keys, Instrument Panel, Lock and Tank Lid. I had the same thing happen when they where packing up my house this past weekend the movers dropped a tube door on my speedo and yes it cracked.... There was another comment in another thread that it would work with a virgin instrument panel without the extras.

STOP! unless you absolutely want the immobilizer, don't go spending thousands of dollars on ignition etc... you can reflash the dash, bypass immobilizer and be ok with just a few hundred dollar dash... doesn't have to be virgin.

I am going through same project/problem right now.

Also, here is a great way to do it yourself and keep immobilizer as well actually:

message from Gilly on this forum: "using DucatiDiag. Free software. You just have to purchase two common cables via amazon. Flash license is $140 ($100 Euros), which lets you disable the immobilizer, upload maps, change rev limiter etc.

It's all in my "Oh My" thread on the SF board.

If you want to flash additional ECU's, it's just 50 Euros each.

The software was written by "JP" of France. And it works. There are also options to re-virginize the ECU I believe, which in the case of a different dash, would allow you to keep the immobilizer. I'm not 100% on that part... but all the rest is gold!

I still need to do it, but before spending all that money, look into this solution

Ducatidiag does have that option indeed. I haven't had to use it, but all the other stuff in ducatidiag works so I'm guessing this will as well.

Keep us updated! I'm also in the same boat right now. I just bought a Hyper from an insurance auction. It's my first Ducati, and it's a whole new learning experience for me. I never expected the dash to cost so much!
I've taken mine apart, and am trying to find a new LCD screen. I've e-mailed the manufacturer in Italy (using Google translate), and am awaiting a response.....

I hope you can source the screen. Be careful if the trail leads to Taiwan or Hong Kong... while many things are made there, you want to be REAL careful about giving any financial info out. I would HIGHLY recommend using PayPal. I was sourcing an LCD screen for something, and had my financial info lifted from probably someone who worked at the place I ordered it from. Trust No One!!!!

The screen off the existing one, check for manufacture codes. Unless of course that is what you've already done and the source is Italy.
