Ok....Just got my Hyper and it came with a DP tail bag thingy. Not my thing but ok I can see the use for it. Problem is this...whoever mounted this thing neglected to put ANY place to mount the f**king license plate or license plate light! Also I can't seem to find where the wires for the light would hook up to even if they were there. I have this nasty feeling I am missing a bunch of stuff and would actually like to just bring it back to stock.

As I am new to the HM world I don't know what I don't have so is there anyone who might have a good pic or better yet an exploded view of the tail light/license plate area?

I have included a pic of the bike with the tail bag thingy as I thought it might help.

You should get enough light coming from the bottom of the tail light, as to not need a separate licence plate light. It's not that difficult to either buy, or Fab a bracket for the plate. Use some flat aluminum stock, or pirate an old road sign to make one. There's plenty of places underneath to bolt it up.

This might help, parts pics from the manual, it is from a 796 but they're the same fixtures as ours I'm sure...

I had the rack on too, dunno how things could go missing...gotta watch the tail light rubber mounts area, they're weak and the light mount/plastic can break easily...very easy to fit/refit.
I had just a tank bag (without flaps) mounted to the rack for convenience...didnt look too good though must say....

i guess i won't post my photos anymore. something i noticed though while shooting the rear end... my plate doesn't seem to be right bang-on the centre of the tire. something is shift to one side.

btw, i just found this today. if you need more details. click on the year and then the model... the assembly diagrams are shown. go to drawing 38.

Vroooom the plate hanger I made last night us off a wee bit too. Hypers are still beautiful and I'm sure yours is too....in a hooligan sorta way!
