RapidBike
Hi everyone,
I called the closest tuner to me, and thought that he carried Power Commanders and had a Dyno jet, instead it's a dynostar, and he is the swiss distributor for RapidBike
Rapid Bike by Dimsport Technology - Additional control unit for motorbikes
does anyone know anything about this company? I don't mind ordering the PCV online, and getting some generic map, and then asking that guy to tune it since money is money, but if he's putting his name behind this product, which is Italian and also has Hyper model, why not...
Just looking for opinions, since it seems like you only hear about DP, PCV, Baaazzaaazzz, and motech or whatever...
thanks,
L

I have heard good things about Rapidbike, as long as he has the dyno and knows how to use it, I would have no problems using it. Aloha Alex

Thanks for your reply Alex, for some reason I never saw it, and was starting to wonder about that thing.
I called them, and asked about the procedure...it seems to be a good product and according to the tech, it bypasses the o2 sensors.
The local Ducati dealer here in Geneva said that they sell them over the PCV, so that's 2 separate, independent people telling me to go that route...
I contacted the tuner, but am still undecided...maybe I'll wait til after the 1000km service and take it from there.
Thanks again,
L

The RapidBike 3 is a good product. However, support in the USA is sadly lacking. Since you will be working with the Swiss distributor who has a dynostar, I would not hesitate to give the RB3 a shot. I've had one installed on my HM since 2008 with no issues. You can also alter the ignition advance for each cylinder in addition to fueling with the RB3. You can also raise the rev limiter. Quickshifters and a bluetooth connection are also available. If you get the RB3, make sure you also get a copy of the Pro software.

The unit he wants to instal is the RapidBike Evo (nothing to do with the "Evo" in Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP) which I believe equates to the 2 and not the 3.
What do you mean by Bluetooth? is that for tuning?
Thanks,
L

The Rapidbike EVO is self adapting. You set the injection parameters and the system adapts the maps to those parameters. More info here... Rapid Bike by Dimsport Technology - Additional control unit for motorbikes Looks like it has very sturdy construction and is totally water and vibration proof.
As for the bluetooth, it was an option on the RB3 but is not needed on the EVO since the maps are self correcting. On the RB3, the bluetooth connection allows for wireless map adjustment.

Thanks Duke, you're getting me excited.
As soon as I get back from my upcoming trip, I'll be looking to instal that
