Handgard bar end fix macgyver style
After waiting for nearly a month to get parts replaced from the dealer for My new HYM796, and although once they got them ordered it was quick . . . . I got impatient and developed a fix that has been working rather well.
The second photo is to show the relationship of the roll pin to the bar end notch, there is one on each side. The piece is not attached an is pulled away to illustrate this, When attached, it is nearly flush to the grip.

What holds the roll pins in place?
Maybe I'm missing something (I'm not too bright) but it would seem that the roll pins could....ummmm.....roll in the mount and allow the handguard to rotate anyway.

The roll pins are pressed at .400 - .425 into the plastic. That part of the hand guard is a nylon66, or a 40% GFN (glass filled nylon), high impact/shear strength.
So far it been working perfectly.
What were your thoughts?

No glue. It is a press fit. The pin is made from a grade of spring steel. If you notice the gap or split running down the length of
the pin, that is the "tolerance" built into the pins functionality which allows it to close in on itself. Since it is spring steel, it will
always be under a load within the cavity in which it is pressed into. That is why it stays in place.
You start with a hole that is .007 -.010 smaller than that of the outside diameter, (OD) of the pin. At least for this pin diameter.
You could put a touch of JB weld down in there, however there is not enough surface area where the pin is to be effective.
